+FK5984
Just getting my new Garmin GPSMap 60CSx running that I got as a combination birthday/father's day gift. This is the one that I've wanted for a long time as I've been Geocaching for quite a while now with a Magellan eXplorist 400 that I've been able to keep running. Anyhow, in trying to tinker with some of the settings with the Garmin, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get it to give me a numerical heading on the Compass page. Whether I set it up as heading or bearing it gives me a directional reading with letters (N,S,E,W etc...). Just wondering if anyone would be able to give me some input. Other than that I'm please with how everything else works. I will be working to get the geocaches working next and was going to use GSAK as I always have. Any input anyone would have to make this setup easier would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ken. Quote Link to comment

+FK5984
http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/GPSMAP60CSx_OwnersManual.pdf ....... page 75 mm I read through that a couple of times today; then re-read it again and figured it out. In the Heading Setup, the display had to be changed. It works the way I want it to now. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+DENelson83
You're looking for "Heading". That's the direction in which the GPS is moving (or pointing, if the magnetic compass is on). "Bearing" only applies when actively navigating to a waypoint, as that's the direction from your current location to the waypoint. Quote Link to comment
