+AtlantaGal Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 How do you explain to someone that the "marks" (eg: The Great Lakes) on the coin in North America are supposed to be there and are part of the actual die? Quote
+Eartha Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Show them a map? Give them the coordinates to the lakes? Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 LOL, I have someone who thinks it's a coin defect and I'm trying to explain it's not and that is the way the coin design is. I want to know how others would explain it. Quote
+Sunrayers Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Send them a picture of another Tranq. to show that they ALL have the Great Lakes on them. Quote
+Chickahominy Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Ditto... send them a picture. (Or tell them it IS a defect and they will just have to sell it to Chickahominy for whatever little amount they can get! LOL...) Quote
+Crowesfeat30 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Send them a picture of another Tranq. to show that they ALL have the Great Lakes on them. Yep, that's what I was going to say. There are enough different versions of the coin it shouldn't be too hard to convince them... CF30 Quote

"In a 2006 National Geographic-Roper study, 88 percent of Americans ages 18 to 24 couldn’t find Afghanistan on a map. 65 percent couldn't find the United Kingdom. Half couldn’t find New York City. Half couldn’t find world powers like Japan or India. And 20 percent couldn’t find the Pacific Ocean." Edited June 26, 2009 by Zarya. Quote
+avroair Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 You could always forward them to the coin's designer for explanation. Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) I sent several photos of other Tranquilities for comparison. Some had the area inked and others did not. You could always forward them to the coin's designer for explanation. Well I was going to forward them to Castle Man if it came to that. Thankfully, it didn't. +Eartha Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 So, do they understand it now? If not, tell them it's not a defect, that is where they are supposed to drill the hole when they add the big steel cable and laminated tag before releasing it in the wild. Quote

And run over it with a jeep a couple times for authenticity! Quote

Where are they getting these people in the survey? Quote
