+Knipe_raider
i am thinking of making a cache in the water but can not think of a container that will keep the water out any ideas. Quote Link to comment
+The Ravens
Ammo cans, bison tubes, waterproof match box... There is a cache "in" the lake here, an ammo can chained to a tree and uses rocks to submerge it. I also read about a submerged cache using a bison tube. I think it too was attached by a small chain/cable. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Ammocan with a good seal and a nice lock-n-lock inside of it for insurance. Quote Link to comment

Penguin_ar
Ammo cans can be got cheap in army surplus and outdoor stores; or for free ones, ask any friends/ family you may have in the police or military! Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
An easier way to do it is to place coordinates on something waterproof underwater, pointing to a cache on dry land. That way you don't have to worry about keeping the contents dry, which is a nearly impossible to do for very long. Sooner or later someone is going to screw up and allow something go get caught in the seal, or the seal will fail and you'll have a soaked cache. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Only one I've done was a plastic container like a waterproof match container, with nuts to weight it down, tied to a rope. Actually worked. Even had a barnacle growing on it (which I was not expecting in the Gowanus Canal...)_ Quote Link to comment
+niraD
I once found an underwater ammo can that was dry. The week link is the seal. If something (for example, a plastic bag) is trapped between the lid and the container, then it compromises the seal and water wicks into the container. Quote Link to comment
