+Rustynails Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) I have found a few caches that are just out of reach, not everyone is 6 feet tall. What tool do other height challanged people use to get to these? I'm not going to bushwack with a step stool or ladder. Thanks Edited June 10, 2009 by rustynails. Quote
+Maingray Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 A small kid on shoulders can work wonders I have one I can rent out. Otherwise, you can buy long handled "grabby" tools from various hardware stores. Quote
+sodajerk Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 At an auto parts store or tool store like Harbor Freight, you can get a reach tool with a magnet on the end or a claw like gripper. I have an extendable magnet tool as well as an inspection mirror that swivels around. The mirror is handy for looking into high or low spaces like the hollow hole in a tree. I am not anywhere 6 feet tall. I know what you are talking about. Quote
NordicMan Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Before grabbing that hard-to-reach cache out of it's hiding spot,, be sure you've already figure out a way how to return it back the way you found it! Quote
+Printess Caroline Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 A nearby stick has worked for me so far. Quote
crawil Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I have a claw grabber thing in my trunk that the family bought me from the dollar store several years ago as a joke. I needed it yesterday! I'm 6 feet tall and was after a cache at a busy intersection that was six inches out of reach. I figured that jumping would direct more attention than I wanted, so I had to use the claw. I also keep an extensible magnet & inspection mirror in my cache bag. Quote
