I need some help in holding an event in the tampa bay area. And to maybe get some support on my caching site that I started called Tampa Bay Area Cacher's just click on the link. But I was thinking of holding an event some where along Hwy 19. Either on a week night were we can eat and talk about how to make this group work out. Or on a weekend sometime after the 4th of july weekend. Any input or help would be appreciated. Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think there is already an organized group for Tampa. You might email some of your area's established cachers, or check our http://www.floridacaching.com/. I think they have links to all of the local FL groups and have forums set up for the various regions.

You are right but there have been no post since march so I was thinking of getting a group of cacher's in the area more involved in a local site it will either work or not. And to have a monthly events. And since there is the NEFGA my favorite site and the SCGA also it can't hurt to try one over here.

You might announce the existence of your site on the FGA forums. You're right, the forums there are really really quiet, but a good many folks wander through. There are more eyeballs seeing stuff there then you might expect.

There have been a couple of attempts to have roughly monthly events in the Tampa area - M&M_Melted hosted a couple, Eagle Dad, Capt Biggins, but they do tend to fizzle out after a while.

I'm hosting an event just north of the Tampa area, in August, but it's narrowly focused on being a Wherigo cart writing gathering.

I'm not sure what kind of help you need? May I suggest finding a venue (restaurant) see if you can get a room for an evening, and then just write up an event cache. Generally there's no expense to you. Ie, post it and they will come.

We're a husband/wife team and still rookies at geocaching, but we're in the Tampa Bay Area and would like to see some events so we can attend one. Neither of us feel experienced enough to host one yet.

We'll join your new website and try to stay alert.

The monthly restaurant meet and greets tend to fizzle out because they turn into the same ol-same-ol--you've got to keep things fresh and spread the work around.

We've got a lot of time on our hands and an almost limitless supply of cash, and we'd be glad to join you in your quest. we've hosted many sucessful events.

Contact us thru GC.com, or at the Pinellas County Jail during visiting hours... :P

Thanks I was kinda of thinking the same thing. But I have been so busy working that I haven't had time to work on an event.
