beejay&esskay
[Edited to add: Several comments below indicate this may be a general issue, not just with GMail.] (I am trying to make this specific so it doesn't turn into a "why didn't my PQ run" topic). There was a delay today in PQs going to GMail. I had 4 PQs run at 0115, 0325, 0325 and 0326. They arrived at GMail at 0115, 0340, 0351, 0421. Not a huge problem, but it seems to be getting worse. Here are the details of the last one, the most delayed: Received: from signal.Groundspeak.com (signal.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.157]) by mx.google.com with ESMTP id 38si1214865pxi.78.2009.05.29.04.21.12; Fri, 29 May 2009 04:21:13 -0700 (PDT) Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of noreply@geocaching.com designates 66.150.167.157 as permitted sender) client-ip=66.150.167.157; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of noreply@geocaching.com designates 66.150.167.157 as permitted sender) smtp.mail=noreply@geocaching.com Received: from UNICRON (unicron.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.135]) by signal.Groundspeak.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 91B5EB986B for <xxx@gmail.com>; Fri, 29 May 2009 03:26:06 -0700 (PDT) Edited May 29, 2009 by beejay&esskay Link to comment
yodav
I am a little concerned, I ran 2 queries over an hour ago, and they have not arrived. I am hoping they do soon, or I am stuck. Link to comment
yodav
Does anyone know if in the Alternate email address field if multiple email addresses are supported. By either using a comma, or semi-colon? I would like to have the queries go to my gmail, but a secondary non-gmail account as well to help avoid issues possibly caused by gmail. Though, I don't think this issue is gmail, as I created a query and sent it to my personal domain email and it still hasn't arrived either. Each query ran quickly on the geocaching server, but from the time it was created til now, no email. Link to comment
Dr. Henry Jones Jr.
Having the same problem. I show four queries that ran for me between 6:09 and 8:48 a.m. PT this morning and have yet to receive any of them (and need them for a trip I am leaving for in about three hours). I am asking they be sent to gmail, if that ends up mattering in this debacle. Link to comment
dakboy
2 PQs for me today, first ran at 0452 and arrived 11 minutes later. Second ran at 0457 and arrived just short of 4 hours later. Both to GMail. Link to comment
Leaky Spoon
It's not just gmail ... I sent queries to both of my addresses over an hour ago, and nothing Link to comment

Multiple e-mail addresses used to work but this "feature" was not known to the lackeys. The most recent changes caused it not to work (so no address would get the e-mail.) [Note: The above is what a Groundspeak lackey posted, but post #14 below indicates this might not be true. I have not tested it.] Edited May 29, 2009 by beejay&esskay Link to comment
Dr. Henry Jones Jr.
Well, just got two of my four in the last 15 minutes...so the first one was delayed nearly six hours and the other about four. Still waiting on two others... Link to comment

PhantomTech
My PQ email is going to gmail. 1 PQ ran at 8:47am pst and have not received it yet, so I ran another one just now. The second one ran and was received in email instantly. Still waiting on the first one that ran at 8:47am. At least I got one of them to keep me busy Edited May 29, 2009 by PhantomTech Link to comment
yodav
Well... Not really happy with them. I have not rec'd anything today. Nor a response from them in email addressing the issue over hours have passed. Sent to 2 different email servers. nothing. Wouldn't a note on their page stating there are issues be nice to let us know they know there are problems? Link to comment
baelrati
Waiting for my PQs ... Are you running Exchange as email server?? Link to comment
yodav
No on exchange, one server is a custom windows the other was gmail. Geocaching.com wrote me back and they are having problems with their mail server and they are working on it as we speak. No other info.. Also, they confirmed you can do more than one email address on the Alt line, I will have to test that in the future once things are back to normal. Link to comment
tomturtle
I have run 3 PQs today and haven't gotten any of them and mine is being sent to a yahoo address. Hope they get this straightened out soon. Update: I did just get the one from a couple hours ago. The one from early this morning is still missing and so is one I did 15 minutes ago. +baelrati
vodav: I meant to ask if Groundspeak is running Exchange, wouldn't surprise me ... Just ran another query, maybe I have more luck with that one ... well, 2 target gmail, 3rd goes to my work email (private system) and the 4th to my ISP. Well, I wanted to have done my preparations by now! Link to comment
j.ollie
Doh! And now you can't do anything, the main web site has a "down for maintenance" page up. Link to comment
j.ollie
Hmm some of my mail from geocaching.com seems to be coming in now. Link to comment
dakboy
It's not just GMail, and it's not just PQs. I have 2 overlapping cache publishing notifications, and a cache was published that hit both of them. I received one at 4:01PM Eastern, and the second at 4:59PM Eastern. Both go to the same address, which is not GMail. Checking the headers, it looks like it's getting stuck in the handoff between hal.Groundspeak.com and signal.Groundspeak.com or signal.Groundspeak.com to signal4.Groundspeak.com From the one recieved at 4:01: Received: from signal.Groundspeak.com (signal.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.157]) by MYHOST (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id n4TK1nAV020878 for <MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 16:01:49 -0400 Received: from signal4.Groundspeak.com (signal4.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.161]) by signal.Groundspeak.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id C5F7C4A06E9 for <MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 13:01:47 -0700 (PDT) Received: from hal (hal.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.136]) by signal.Groundspeak.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id E1BCE1FCF57 for MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 12:26:11 -0700 (PDT) From the one recieved at 4:59: Received: from signal.Groundspeak.com (signal.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.157]) by MYHOST (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id n4TKxoWZ007857 for <MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 16:59:50 -0400 Received: from signal4.Groundspeak.com (signal4.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.161]) by signal.Groundspeak.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2D12C7B81DD for <MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 13:48:32 -0700 (PDT) Received: from hal (hal.Groundspeak.com [66.150.167.136]) by signal.Groundspeak.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id F24832048E2 for <MYADDRESS>; Fri, 29 May 2009 12:26:11 -0700 (PDT) Edited May 30, 2009 by dakboy Link to comment
