Help!eXplorist 300

1) Turn it on

2) when the screen lights up and it says "press" push the middle button

3) hit the button that says "mark"

4) if it says "continue with mark?" click "yes"

5) push the top center button (joystick) up until it lights the block that says "PO001" or similar.

6)click the center button.

7) spell out the name of the cache or a shortcut and click "ok"

8) click on the lighted block with the numbers and, one by one, put in the proper numbers for the cache coordinates.

9) push the joystick down to "save" and click.

10) When you push the "goto" button, your new cache will show up on a list!

I think the 300 has the same capabilities as the 500. Doesn't it come with a data cable?

 

If it does, you can download GSAK from GSAK.NET and use that program to upload chords for lots of caches. Just found this out last night and I can't tell you how much time it has saved me.

You can also use EasyGPS. A lot easier to use than GSAK and free. Don't get me wrong, GSAK is a wonderful tool but it might be a bit much for someone who isn't slightly technically savvy.
