kayakbird Posted May 21, 2009 Share Posted May 21, 2009 Does anyone have a link to the preliminary work that was done near Moorhead, Montana on the Powder River? The concrete foundations of several buildings and what may have been an instrument station remain. I need a bit of help to complete this morning's recovery of QU0331 NO. 67, and its two RM's that were set in 1949. The azimuth was another numbered BUREC station (#72) but the calls did not work out. The bearing/distance puts it off the west side of the bluff about where dozer trail -possible water line - dives off the ridge. At a reversed MAGNETIC bearing and distance of 0.1 mile, not .15, I found what appears to be a permanent backsight stand, but no plug in pipe in concrete such as # 67. It will be a bit out of my way going home next week, but with more info I would do it. It is a neat area. Thanks, Mike Quote Link to comment
