SoDakCachers Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I'm going to ask it again anyway. I do not want to do this but I am at a point where I really do not have a choice. My wife got laid off a couple months ago, sort of. She works a week and has a week off and unemployment just isn't cutting it. I thought I could avoid selling off my coins; however, the future at her job doesn't look very rosy. My question is do I sell the coins in this forum; individually or in groups, or do I take my chances on eBay. I guess my problem is I really do not know the value of some of the coins. Sure, some of the coins, ET's, Deadliest Cache, Tranquility, DaVinci, I have a pretty good idea. It's all of the other one's I am unsure of and I do not want to get taken just because I am in dire need of funds right now. I am going to be getting a list together over the next few days of the coins I am selling, approximately 100 coins, and will more than likely be posting more info/questions soon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. email me here with requests and offers jrrj@iw.net Quote
SCP-173 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Selling them on eBay is your best bet for getting the highest price. Quote
+fairyhoney Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I have to agree with going with E-Bay. BUT, if you don't mind, i know that WE here would LOVE to have first stab Quote
SoDakCachers Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 I have to agree with going with E-Bay. BUT, if you don't mind, i know that WE here would LOVE to have first stab I intend to do just that! After several emails I have decided to post to this thread my list of coins in the next couple days. I will consider all offers. I still struggle with selling some of them as it took quite a while to collect the series, Deadliest Cache and Musketeer for instance. Therefore, I am contemplating selling these as a set, not individually. Or will people not be interested in sets? Probably just looking for that last harder-to-find coin to complete the set...I guess we'll see how it goes. I agree that eBay could garner more money; however, I would rather sell to someone who is going to appreciate rather than turn around and try to make a profit off of them. Besides, I don't like 'reserve' auctions Thanks. Joe Quote
+joranda Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Sell them on ebay first, what ever don't sell there then try and get rid of them here. Quote

SoDakCachers Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 After several very helpful emails, I have decided to split my coins into sections and sell some here and try some others on eBay. I will post my first wave shortly. The prices are all negotiable. IF you see something you like send me an email. Thanks. Quote
+PorscheSpyder Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I highly recommend Ebay. I have noticed that the coins I'm usually interested in end up going above my price range, which is a good thing, if your the seller! Quote

Take this coin for example. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=120419462562 Some people will pay anything if they want it bad enough. Quote
