+user13371 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) I just had a cool idea for any GPS that also has a live data connection (like the iPhone, Blackberry, Android G1, etc). Real-time WAAS corrections (updated every three minutes) are available here: http://www.nstb.tc.faa.gov/RTData_WaasSatelliteData.htm http://www.nstb.tc.faa.gov/incoming/Waas_SV_Status.txt If a GPS receiver has a live data connection, it could just sniff that page for corrections, instead of dedicating receiver channels and processor time to get them from the satellites. I think aGPS as it currently works only gets ephemeris data, not WAAS corrections. I don't know if any other devices or apps do this yet, but I've just sent an email off to Motion-X and Apple suggesting they add it to their iPhone GPS applications.
