shivia
Good sunday members. I plan to buy Oregon 300 for bicyling use. Most of the time, it's just for bicycling rides only. I heard that Or300 has a lack quick response under wooded or shaded area. Me, i'll use it mostly in clear sky view, road bikes rides in bitume only. So, Or300 is there a good acquisition in my case? Many thanks to help me make my decision. Quote Link to comment

+mattalbr
I use the Oregon on my motorcycle. Works great. Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
Issues with the Oregon's relatively difficult to read screen are exacerbated when you use it in a fixed mount. It's not as much of a problem if you don't wear bike glasses or use ones with clear lenses. Quote Link to comment
shivia
Do i need Or300 power light on even under sunlight road rides? Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
Yes. Here are some tips that will help with screen visibility... http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Miscellaneous#toc7 Quote Link to comment
+splashy
No, only when reading in the sun(bright) light, you might have to adjust the view angle, because of reflection. Basically it's very good visible in the sun. Quote Link to comment
shivia
Does Or300 handle the colored track files (in lieu of route - autorouting) for navigation? Quote Link to comment
+splashy
No, even trackback fails sometimes, only working solution is, to just follow the track looking at the screen. You can color different tracks different colors. Edited April 26, 2009 by splashy Quote Link to comment
