Haven't you got anything better to do with your time, such as perhaps kicking a dog, robbing a bank, disabling all the red light cameras in your town, waterboarding your in-laws, or stuffing your face with junk food laden with hydrogenated oils and empty calories? I agree with Vinny but thought I'd share anyway. Earth Day is a bunch of B.S. If you're a true environmentalist, every day is Earth Day. But since environmentalists usually don't really care about the environment they need to make this day up to help themselves feel better. Now, if you're like me, you'd be a conservationist. A conservationist lives their entire life keeping the earth and their neighbors in mind and certainly don't admonish people that live the way they choose.

This is the stupidest thing ever proposed by the environmentalist whackos. If you want to lower your own energy costs, certainly shut off the lights. But pretending this is going to cause the earth to cool is complete nonsense.

This one makes me want to gag. Trees are a renewable resource. On top of that, there's no shortage of trees. Ever drive through MN, WI, PA, VA, or any state that isn't in the southwest? Trees are everywhere.

In yesterday's paper, there was a claim that between 20 and 500 species would go extinct today. My gawd, can you provide some raw data to back it up? First, the spread between 20 and 500 is asanine. Secondly, if that many species went extinct everyday, we will soon have no critters left. Have you stepped outside lately?? There's a flock of turkeys running around downtown Minneapolis for God's sake and deer as just as thick as flies. If THAT many species go extinct EVERYDAY, you CERTAINLY should have the ability to provide me with a list of examples.
