As well as a standard Garmin Etrex (which we've been using for 3 years), we also use my E71 with Geocache Navigator, in comparison to the Garmin it's a little bit slower but still serviceable, but given a choice I would use the Garmin. Where the E71 really comes into its own is with Viewranger and the OS maps (which cost next to nothing)- nothing beats having live OS maps with a GPS fix, plus we can geotag our photos which is great fun.
