POLE POSITION
For those of you geocachers who happen to be pathfinders, as in the youth organization, the thought had occurred to me that it might be fun to do a tb/geocoin race from our big camporee in Oshkosh this, to home, or, if you live within 350 mi. of oshkosh, some other pathfinder friend's home from somewhere else. Please pathfinders, give me your feedback. If you have any questions pm me. Quote Link to comment

+mustang87
I was a Pathfinder many moons ago. I think that would be an awesome idea. Do you plan to place a geocache somewhere near the Camporee to use as a starting point, or just use one that is nearby? Another idea might be to do a travel bug exchange at this summer's Camporee. Either way, seriously cool idea for the Camporee. Unfortunately I am a teacher and will be getting ready for school in August. Bummer. Good luck!! Quote Link to comment
+Chi-Town Cacher
Sorry for posting even though I'm not a pathfinder, but if you do decide to go through with your plan (it does sound like fun) I have a recommendation based on a TB race I am a participant in at the present time. You may want to set up a brand new cache to launch the TBs and geocoins on their way. That way people will be enticed to go there and move trackables so they can get their smiley for a new find. Also, for those that filter out caches they've already found out of their PQs it would then show up on their radars. Good luck!!!! Edit to add a P.S. If you do go through with your idea you may want to publicize in the regional Forum for that area. That way local cachers will have a second form of notification that there are racers waiting to be moved out. Edited April 26, 2009 by Michigan Cacheman Quote Link to comment

I am a leader and have used geocaching in my program. Let me know if you are having a TB race. My unit may contribute. Guiderchachi Quote Link to comment
+Astro_D
Are you referring to the Centennial Camporee in Oshkosh, WI in September? If so, there is discussion of hosting a geocaching event on the Wisconsin Geocaching Association forum. If you are referring to another Oshkosh, my apologies. Quote Link to comment
POLE POSITION
guiderchachi, no. AstroD-Team, no. mustang87, thanks for the idea! I like it! It sounds a lot easier than having a full out tb race. I'll take the idea down that line. Quote Link to comment
POLE POSITION
For those of you who are pathfinders (for a definition please read my post "oshkosh pathfinder tb race") and would like to exchange tbs and geocoins please leave a reply and bring YOUR OWN tb or geocoin, more than one is ok, and we'll have fun trading! RasOne
Anyone thought about getting or making a special DTP 2009 Geocoin? or Event Travel bug? Our group of Pathfinders have started Geocaching and this would be a fun addition to the many honors being taught at the Camporee. We could easily give out a few thousand special Geocoins if we had them. Quote Link to comment
