Lord Howe Island

With only 350 permanent residents on the island, i don't like the chances of a cacher living there. :)

With Lord Howe Island being World heritage listed, and being part of NSW, i would think that the reviewers would not allow any cachers to be listed in many parts of the Island.

As for the holiday part, last time I looked at flights I was so outraged at the prices we ended up flying to Vanuatu instead as it was cheaper!

Looks like a nice place to visit but (just checked current prices) for $2640 return flight for two adults there are a lot of cheaper places to go. Vanuatu was $900 return for two for example.

there should be no reason you could not hide a cache on the island. The majority of it would certainly not be damaged by cachers walking over the area etc.

We've been a couple of times before we knew about geocaching but have friends that cache that have a chance at going there this year so i'll tell them to hide something.... hmmmmm, i can already think of two good spots.

I hope your friend is going there to live or will be returning regularly in order to maintain the cache if required.
