Two songs which would fit nicely into a Trailmix!

 

For the story, I'll talk about a song you'll probably won't be able to find, it's a complete crazy song in French by Donjon de Naheulbeuk : A l'Aventure, compagnons!

It tells about a guy who wanted to seek adventure and who ends up in a serious mess, failing the whole thing. It is really funny, in the spirit of the Dungeons and Dragons stories.

So one evening after a very hard hike to find a geocache up a snowy hill (well, icy and snowy!), we were completely dead from exhaustion when coming back to the car. So we turned on the CD, and sang the silly and fun stuff all the way back to home. What a day!

I have another song to add but I can't find it yet. Its written and sung by another cacher. I found a copy in a cache when I first started caching. I contacted him and he told me I could copy it and put it in caches too as long as I gave him credit. I will continue to look for it. Its called something like: "Don't Tell My Wife I'm Geocaching She Thinks I'm Out at the Bar" LOL

Both of these songs have good driving rhythms and I love when they come on my iPod, whether it's caching or driving to one of my study sites out in the boonies!

 

The first one (Red Dragon Tattoo by Fountains of Wayne) has quirky lyrics that are just fun to sing and funny when I think about them, and this song is perfect for starting out and a caching run. Good motivator.

 

"Light in your Eyes", Sheryl Crow's tribute to George Harrison, is easy on the ears with moving lyrics, and a good consolation prize after I have a DNF! For times when I have been more successful, it just reminds me to have a greater appreciation for all things to be thankful for: a working GPS, good friends to go caching with, and the time and freedom to enjoy the outdoors in this way.

Song number one always gets me in a good mood and reminds me that any cache can be found or solved!

Song number two is a recent one I did a hike in upper SC to a waterfall that had an earth cache at well one of us read the hike guidelines wrong and thought it said mild hike 1.9 mile. When in fact that was only straight line distance not over the 3 mountains and not the last 1500 feet that marked as strenous. I am not in shape the way I used to be and boy did that kick my hiney. But the whole time I'm grumping up and down that mountain all I can hear in my head is:

We have a Sanza clip and have begun using the voice recorder on it to make notes on our cache finds. Now we don't forget what the cache was and have to rely on "tftc" and it is quicker and easier than typing notes in the pda.

2) This is one of the most beautiful songs and music I have heard! It was the Serbian song of Eurovision 2008!

 

I REALLY LOVE this song becasue it makes Like I want to cry! It awakes memories of lost loves, memories of things I didn't do when I had to do, things I had done when I shouldn't had done, things that passed and will never come, will never get fixed... If a song or music makes my heart tremble like a lear in the wind.... No matter from where the song or the music is...it really speaks in my soul!

2) the Pulp fiction soundtrack, the song "Misirlu"!!! Believe it or not, this song is a very old Greek song!!!!

The song was first performed by the Michalis Patrinos rebetiko band in Athens, Greece in 1927!!!!

It had lyricks too!

ITS OK DRNEAL, I refrenced the other thread on page 4 or 5, it is still viewable!!! im gonna see if i can merge the other thread after the cointest, and before the start of the second one!!

 

I spent the day getting songs for the mix and im using as many as i can fit and find, so if your fav song dosent end up un the mix, dont take it personaly , I probably couldent find it in time to use it or my copy was in bad quality, and wasent able to find a replacement in time. hope you enjoy the mix ive spent a total of probably 20 + hrs on it so far and im about 10min in,, lol, just to give you an idea of how much time is invested into something like this.

BTW: I did record something. But my mobile insist on mixing a nasty cheeping noise into it and I realized again that I hate to hear recordings of my own voice... I still am not sure, if I want to hear it in a mix...But I think hearing the voices of the other people in the forums will be fun! So I will send it...
