+hockey_buddha
I have a read a few reviews regarding the Vista Hcx and it looks like a great device for me as a newbie. The only thing that is of concern to me is the smaller screen size. The specs from Garmin say: 1.3" x 1.7" (3.3 x 4.3 cm) display. Is this an issue for anyone who uses this device? I would like to have a larger screen, but the price of the Vista Hcx is very good. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
NordicMan
Well, only YOUR eyes can tell you how big the screen needs to be.. go to a sporting goods store or some other store that has a variety of GPSr's and check them out for yourself. Personally I don't find the Vista HCx too small at all. The Garmin 60's have a larger screen dimensionally but a lower pixel count so, it's give and take there.. Quote Link to comment
+pigpen4x4
Owning a VistaHCx, 60CSx and a PN40, I can say the screen size is not an issue. In fact I used it today to navigate around the lake and even in direct sun it was great. Of course bigger is nicer, but it has nothing to apoligize for in that department. PP Quote Link to comment
MtnHermit
This table may help: So far I've owned three, it's a disease: eTrex, Nuvi and Colorado. Without a doubt the Nuvi is the biggest/best if you don't mind not seeing the display in sunlight and crappy battery life. The CO is between the others and the eTrex is the best in sunlight. Theirs no perfect display, sorry. Quote Link to comment
+Hrethgir
I have a Legend HCx and a PN-40, same size screen on both, and screen size has never been an issue. Quote Link to comment
