Unique trees while hiking...

I have ran across some interesting looking trees while hiking.I was wondering if anyone else had any pictures of unique looking trees seen while hiking.This one was in the Elkhorn Mountains in Montana.

I missed it but many people find an interesting tree near the first cache in Hawaii

I'm always on the hunt for the unusual tree. I like to call it my Ent Hunt.

These next two trees were within 20 feet of each other.

This next one is a cedar tree covered in snow creating the snow curl.

Lightning Strike

(copied from the cache listing)The cache is located near the largest single stem black cherry in Cook Forest State Park, and was the largest in the PA State Park system. When alive, this forest grown single stem black cherry had a circumference of 13.1ft a crown spread of 61.5ft and a height of 121.7ft for a total of 294 big tree points. This tree could very well have been over 250 years old.

Here is another one in Montana.If you look to the right of the tree under one of the branches at the skyline,you will see the face of a famous mountain here in the Helena area, The "Sleeping Giant".

The trees in this floodplain had completely exposed roots which all tangled around each other, like some Lovecraftian horror.

I wasn't hiking, but I found this one while caching. It's called "the indian tree", and it's located on the grounds of the Civic Center in Traverse City, MI. Local legend says it was made by the indians as a pointer or trail marker.

I ran across this strange looking tree on the way to get a cache on the mountain that is just to the north of where this tree stands...very weird looking,but cool.

Here's a big one I went to last year near Yosemite National Park.

 

 

Here's one I saw just last weekend while on a snowshoe hike in the Sierra Nevada's near Loon Lake.

Several of these posted, especially the one marked as suck look like they may infact be Indian Trees.

 

It's very cool to stumble across one. We have several here in Central/Northern ohio from the MOhican Indian Tribe. Let me see if I can find some more information on them....
