Logging an inactive geocoin

I saw this coin in one of the diplays at the GPS Adevnture Maze exhibit in Seattle yesterday:

I was going to log this as "Discovered" but when I pull it up it just says that it hasn't been activated yet.

 

I don't see any way to log it yet I see from the logs that others have logged it at some of the other maze events. So...how did they do that?

How did the others log it then? There are several discoveries listed.

All that I see when I click the link provided is a "not yet activated" sereen

Where are you seeing discovery logs ?

All that I see when I click the link provided is a "not yet activated" sereen

Where are you seeing discovery logs ?

 

I see a coin page stating This trackable item hasn't been activated. Activate it now.

 

along with some Discovery logs.

In the cointest A nice spot for a bit of butty munching, there was a coin that was logged before it was activated. They were able to log it with a cell phone.

It is a USA geocoin and the owner is listed as nobody and the cache location is unknown.

Funny thing is that the last log area is blank, but clicking on the coin name shows the logs above

Interesting, but aren't there already enough people confused by how to log REGULAR trackables?? This can't be helpful.

I should add That the coin I am refering to, The cacher's profile page locked up after they logged the coin
