John E Cache
Two questions about my picture: 1. What iis the coal black snake? 2. I got a new D90 and am overwhelmed with settings. How was I supposed to shoot this picture to get the head in focus instead of the body? Quote Link to comment

Sometimes all of the stripes might not be visible. Here's a recent one of mine, a black ratsnake I came across in a tree while searching for this cache: GC1PTX3 Edited April 24, 2009 by JamGuys Quote Link to comment
+succotash
I thought there was a thread for photos of birds but I can't seem to find it. This snowy egret and osprey were seen while caching on the gulf side of Sanibel Island. Quote Link to comment
+Stargazer22
This little guy was only about 6 feet long. He was sitting 10 feet from the cache. This one is a much larger model, between 12 and 14 feet (didn't stop to use my tape measure!) We were glad he was across the creek from us. Beautiful snake Sleepy armadillo Quote Link to comment

+DogPhish
Canadians mustn't use the forums very often because who HASN'T seen one of these Took a lil' time out from our journey from Bathurst Lakes down the gorgeous Nepisiguit to do a lil' casting. We saw about a dozen in various spots in the lake. We got to canoe right past this guy. We were so darn close I could have reached out and pat him. It's hard to tell from the picture but the span of his rack was approximately six feet wide. Super majestic animal and the experience was almost surreal. For the few who don't know what it is, it's a moose. For some reason I can't upload the picture...grrrrrr...I have it on my desktop. If somebody can tell me how to upload it from my pc as oposed to from a URL it'd be greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment

+NeecesandNephews
Was walking back to my truck from a cache and this one was waiting for me. About 4 ft long. He was rattling like crazy. Guess he didn't expect to see me either!! Quote Link to comment
+rtyrie
I have had many wildlife encounters during geocache searches. Unfortunately I did not always have my camera with me. But here are a couple shots when I did have my camera: This shot was taken when I was checking on one of my own caches. I looked up and saw this pair of deer watching me from about 50m away. I nearly stepped on this guy, as he blended into the trail quite well. Quote Link to comment

Lissus
Ran across this little guy in Anaheim last week. Looks like someone's dinner escaped Definitely the oddest cache guardian I've run across while urban caching thus far Quote Link to comment
+bflentje
Hey, is that north of Dallas? I swear, I've seen that critter too. Almost lost an arm retrieving a cache. Quote Link to comment
+succotash
The other day we saw this newborn fawn about 30 feet from a cache in a state park. We thought it might have been born earlier that day as it was just about the size of a housecat. It kept perfectly still as we took a few photos. Then we moved to the cache. We noticed that as we were signing the log, the fawn lifted its head to see what we were doing. Curiosity! Quote Link to comment
+farrtom
Some photos of wildlife while caching in Wyoming. The deer where wondering around the grounds of the Historic WY state penitentiary and the antelope was watching me the whole time while getting a cache along I-80 (also at a historic site).
