joezha
Im currently looking at some cell phones with gps receivers. Are the receivers in these phones as sensitive as a high sensitivity stand alone unit? Are there other downside to getting a phone gpsr? Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
I am using the internal GPSr in my HTC Touch Vogue (qualcom gpsONE). It is fairly sensitive. I don't have a fancy $500 GPSr to compair it to though. It does not have WAAS, so the accuracy is not super, but is not bad. I am thinking of buying a bluetooth GPSr that has WAAS to imporve my accuracy. You can get a desent one for $70 (Canadian), and they go up to about $120 (Canadian). The cool thing about the phone is that you can download cache info anywhere. When I am out running errande, I just fire up my freeware geocaching app, and get it to surch for caches near my GPS coordenance. Quote Link to comment
Jim1348
I bought a used Pharos GPS Phone 600, which is the same as the ETEN Glofiish X500, and installed Garmin Mobile XT. It is a nice combination. It is an unlocked GSM phone, so in the US that means AT&T or T-Mobile as the biggest GSM carriers here. Edited March 29, 2009 by Jim1348 Quote Link to comment
