+aronnie
Is it possible to block a cachers caches from showing up in My PQ's, I am tired of seeing somebody stick a picture of something in a cache page and have Me figure it out (puzzle caches). here is one of the caches, either this guy is a rocket scientist or I'm stupid , if I'm stupid I'm tired of being reminded about it. and I want to remove them from My PQ's so I don't have to even know there is one there. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...57-946b38cb639e Quote Link to comment

+Cache O'Plenty
Didn't think you could put a cacher on the Ignore List. A cache, yes. But not a cacher. Quote Link to comment
+uxorious
here is one of the caches, either this guy is a rocket scientist or I'm stupid , if I'm stupid I'm tired of being reminded about it. and I want to remove them from My PQ's so I don't have to even know there is one there. Sounds like you may be just a little too sensitive. There are a lot of puzzle caches I can't do. I don't think that makes me dumber then the CO or the cachers that find them. I'm just not good at puzzles. What I usually do with puzzles is look at the cache page, think about it for a bit. If I can see someway to solve it without getting a headache, I may go ahead and try it. If I don't see a solution, I just forget about it. I do not let it bother me, nor do I consider myself stupid. I'm just not into puzzles that much. It is important to remember, you do not need to find every cache out there. Quote Link to comment
+Cedar Grove Seekers
Didn't think you could put a cacher on the Ignore List. A cache, yes. But not a cacher. Although the OP certainly indicated putting a cacher/person on the ignore list, based on their explanation of the problem, the OP would be better off putting specific caches on the ignore list. The OP is complaining about puzzle caches. The example he provided is a cache placed by a cacher who has 29 hides, of which only 8 are puzzles, so not sure why he would want to completely ignore that cacher. What is also a bit confusing is that the OP has found four puzzle caches, of which three belong to the example cacher. I would conclude that the OP really meant to inquire about ignoring particular puzzle caches, and not a particular person/cacher. Either that or the OP is fuming about a very recently published puzzle cache that he is unable to solve (and possibly wanted FTF) and is attempting to "punish" the person by ignoring all of their caches. +ThirstyMick
You can't filter out a hider, but you can filter puzzles out of your PQ. Quote Link to comment
+ZSandmann
As the others said, add the caches to your ignore list, set your PQs to filter caches on your ignore list and take a deep breath. On a side note, I don't think your note on the example cache above is appropriate. But thats just me. Quote Link to comment

+aronnie
Can you imagine somebody wanting to geocache but couldn't afford a GPSr so they look for them using the map on the cache page, well I spent all this money to geocache, and now it looks like I'm going to have to hire a CIA agent that is a specialist in code breaking. I would like to have a FTF, but this is not what I'm thinking about when looking for a cache. I think I'm going to create a cache that doesn't exist, just so I can see what it feels like because nobody will be able to find it. Quote Link to comment

And I spent all this money to geocache, and all people do is hide keyholders in street corner newspaper boxes and store parking lots. I don't like them, you don't like puzzles. Upper right hand corner of the cache page, a little blue outlined box with (usually) 5 options. One of them is "Ignore listing". Works great. Poof!! It's gone forever! Well not really, you still see them on the Google map, but that's besides the point. Quote Link to comment

You seem to have an awful sense of entitlement. Not all caches are going to be just what you want. The best way to enjoy this game is to remember, YOU DO NOT NEED TO FIND EVERY CACHE. There are more caches than you will ever find out there, that are not puzzles. Some cachers love puzzle caches and the harder the better. Others ignore them altogether. It would be rude to expect every cache to fit my wants and wishes. Just put the puzzles on ignore and enjoy the rest. Quote Link to comment

There are over 1800 caches within a 50 mile radius of the cache you are concerned about. You have found 77 of them. It seems that you have quite awhile before you really have to worry about finding that one. If you can't figure out the puzzle, forget about it. Go find the caches that you can. Quote Link to comment
+JoesBar
Just for clairity, the 'question mark' on a cache page indicates 'unknown cache.' Some are puzzles and some simply have an additonal logging requirement. I've found unknown caches that require you to log your favorite Halloween costume or post a picture of your favorite book. So, before you ignore all unknown caches, you may want to read the cache page. You may be missing a straight forward cache with a simple addtional item to log. As to puzzle caches, they have a rating system too. the puzzle may be a one star difficulty, or a five star. don't be so fast to ignor caches that may be worth finding. Unless all you desire from caching are park and grabs. but we all play the game that suits us best. Quote Link to comment

Jim Yes, but one would then be wasting valuable PQ space on caches one never intends on looking for. Better to ignore the offending hides, and filter them out at the PQ level. Quote Link to comment
