the "gold" geobone is antiqued gold finish.

How many did you have made? Cause I may be interested in trading the gold version of my coin for one if the numbers are low. I only made 25 of mine.

There are 50 golden geobones.

Email coming

opps! I forgot one -- there are 51 golden ones -- I had a special coin made with the number LF360 on it for Team360. -- which actually goes to show how accomondating Coins and Pins are when it comes to special requests.

Lots of people are selling them on eBay now, no big deal from my perspective. I disagree that it's not something a "true collector" would do. (No, I don't sell any there.)

I'm feeling like I need to be a bit clearer here. I don't think its wrong to sell state coins or your own coins but I sure don't like to see people's personal coins sold unless they are the ones selling it. I also don't think its wrong to buy any coin...if one can afford it...more power to ya.

Geesh - I placed the bid on the personalized Idaho coin without looking at who the seller was. I thought the name on the coin must be the seller.... Which is why I did bid.

I definitely would have held off on bidding (It's the only geocoin I've bid on) if I'd been paying attention.

You could always retract your bids. Most people say "the bid amount was wrong or in error".

Anybody got anything they want to trade for a Texas 2005? I can't even give these things away. Okay, in reality I'm not going to give them away, I'd rather hang onto them until they become a demand item (maybe 50 years from now). However if anyone is looking for one, and would like to make a trade, let me know. You can check out my available coins at cointracking.com.

Here's my newly updated trade list.

http://www.joelcd.net/geocaching/geocoinlist.html

I've now added a collumn for selling coins.

Basically I'm looking to save up money for my personal coin so I don't have to sell those to make it financially feasable. Plus it'll give some of the newer collectors a chance at some coins they might not be able to get a hold of. I'd prefer checks over paypal though, as paypal funds tend to end up going towards buying new geocoins, kinda defeats my purpose of saving.

Can someone link me to a DHobby ver 1 coin image? I have a DHobby coin, but with all the demand on version 1 of his coin, I have no idea if I have a version 1 or 2 or 3 etc, etc.

When did you get your Dhobby1 coin? That will tell you what ver you have.

Also the third Ver has not come out yet, but he is working on it.

The easiest way to tell is that the first version has scalloped/diamond edging (like the Vacman coins and some others) while version 2 had a plain edge.

I can't say for sure but version 1 was probably numbered through 100 or so with later numbers being version 2.

He does not have any Ver.1 left but does have some 2's left (as of like a month or two ago).

Cool! I have a ver 2 #175. We traded directly -- so it has special meaning! (I really treasure the coins I get directly from folks)

Since you mentioned....I went to the planning event for the GW4, not even thinking of bringing my coins (because at the last event ealier this year, NOBODY had coins, and NOBODY at the event collected them) and OMG! There were coins flying around so fast every once in awhile you herd "ping" (that's one hitting the floor or parking lot). It was a danger zone! Thank god for JoGPS, he saved my day by having a nice, neat, and organized way of looking at and logging his coins.

Anyhow-As you were....

Well, come on. You can't leave us like that. What was it? :P

He had the coins with their tracking numbers printed out on a piece of paper, that he handed out, so you didn't have to stop, find a pen, find a piece of paper, write it down (along with ten other people), etc.

Then he had his coins in a folded up holder, so when you wanted to see the coins he took it out of his pocket. You could not touch the coins (so you did not tarnish), and they could not get lost or mixed up with others since you could not take them out.

Pretty cool. I am going today to look for a holder, I have an event tomorrow. :)

I wouldn't be so sure of that LC. :) I might have info to the contrary. :) But then again what do I know, except that I saw DHobby ver 1, #1 sometime in the past month, and you'll never guess where I saw it. :)

The following is a photo of my DHobby1 Ver. 1 coin. These coins were made in Feb. of 2002. Moun10Bike’s coin and mine both came out 2002. Jon helped me out with the back of this coin by letting me use his die. Thought this was an exhalent idea for a signature item. I placed about 90% of these coins in caches in and around Utah.

What I found to be the best way to show off my coins was to go down to my local coin shop and buy a Dansco coin album. since you can order the pages in different sizes (38mm to 60mm) I can fit most of my coins in one binder. The pages hold 9 coins each up tp the 1.75 coin size. The 2" (50mm) have space for 6 coins each.
