savant9
I see gpscity.ca is offering a 400t for pre-order that has Canada topo maps now. Any idea if it is the lame TopoCan V2 maps or if it is the better new ones w/ DEM shading. I haven't seen mention from Garmin on this. Of course currently it is scandalously priced at $100 CAD more than the US version... Quote Link to comment
+g-o-cashers
Given the Garmin part number 010-00697-09 -- this looks like it might be legit. No sign of it on the Garmin page. Quote Link to comment
+Branky
SIH. Of course this comes out after I buy a 300. Oh well, I will wait and see what it looks like before I curse too much. Quote Link to comment
savant9
Well it looks like it has the better maps according to the email I just received from them. Garmin Oregon 400t CanadaWe're the first in the WORLD to bring you the most popular preloaded Topo GPS now with 1:50,000 Canadian mapping and 3-D terrain shading right out of the box Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Hopefully they will come out with a DVD version of the DEM maps soon. It would have to be cheaper than the crazy premium for that unit!!! Quote Link to comment

savant9
Its $699 CAD @ gpscity, although I would imagine the $50 USD MIR on the Oregon series would apply, however they don't state that. Quote Link to comment
+g-o-cashers
I received a post on GPSFix from someone who bought a 400t Canada and it seems Garmin is shipping the V2 maps on the unit not the new V4 maps with DEM. I thought I remembered a pretty clear advert from gpscity.ca that claimed the maps had built in DEM. Quote Link to comment
