Google GPicSync photo geocoding

As long as it says "The page cannot be found" it means that the file isn't there or the url to the file is wrong somehow. Have you verified that the actual .kml file really is on the web and in the right place with the right name.

I agree with you fully BUT I have confirmed the file is there with my FTP program and I have confirmed the url is correct with a pic in the same folder.

Been playing with this for a couple of days and just don't get it!

That's really weird...

I did a test with gpicsync and uploaded the files to my webserver, then took the link to the kml and pasted in google maps. Worked like a charm.

Have you tried to re-upload the files?

I went ahead and deleted and re-uploaded the doc-web.kml file to my webspace. Below is a link to the doc-web.kml file and a link to a jpg in the same directory. I have also confirmed the kml file on the web is the same size as the one on my computer.

My computer shows a kml file as a google earth file, not a google maps file. I assume that is not big deal.

I'm sure I am missing something here, just have not caught it yet!

Thanks,

Matt

Could it be that your webspace host has a problem with kml files?

Try renaming the file on the web by removing the .kml in the end so the file name is "doc-web" only.
