koryandleslie
Ok, it's not that I am gender challenged. Bought this GPS for my husband about 2 or 3 years ago and it has just sat in the box because he can't figure it out. I got it out the other night and I can't get it either!!! I guess, if you can, please walk me step-by-step. I have marked my home. Now what? Say I live on 1st street..I have a address I need to get to on 3rd street. How do I enter that and find driving directions. Maybe I am spoiled by the GPS in new cars, such as turn here, turn here, etc. Sorry, the enclosed instructions aren't helping much. Hopefully you can help me get started! Thanks, Leslie Edited March 1, 2009 by koryandleslie Quote Link to comment

+Wee Be Team
ok you dont know what caching is... how did u get into these forums then? caching =geo caching. Are you looking to just use the 315 for roads or you wanting to get into the geocaching society? Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
I have marked my home. Now what? Say I live on 1st street..I have a address I need to get to on 3rd street. How do I enter that and find driving directions. Leslie the 315 is an older unit that does not support inputing of addresses. So first you would have to geocode (tech speak for finding out the coordinates ) the destination address. You could do this in Google Earth or elsewhere. Then you would have to enter the coordinates into the 315. However, the 315 navigates as the crow flies in a straight line between the start and end points which is probably not going to help you much for street navigation Edited March 1, 2009 by PDOP's Quote Link to comment
+Cacheoholic
A Magellan GPS 315 has no maps or map capability. It only has the ability to navigate straight lines to points. It does leave a “breadcrumb” track on the display so you can see where you’ve been in order to find your way back. Quote Link to comment
NordicMan
I had a Mag 315 years ago, it works great for Geocaching and is fairly accurate. But like others have said, it doesn't know street addresses or can't do turn-by-turn navigation. It does know where all the cities are though, and it'll tell you how far away and in which direction any particular city is from your current position. Quote Link to comment
