I have been reading and hearing stories about Geocaching for two years now and have decided to take the plunge. The wife has ok'd me to use some of our tax return for a one-time-only-purchase of a gps, so I got to make the most of it.lol. This is what I am looking for,

1. Getting from my house to the cache.

2. Paperless. (I don't own an Ipod, laptop, PDA, or fancy cell phone.)

3. Multi cache ablity.

4. Great or good accuracy.

5 Easy to see and use.

What GPS fills this bill? Please help before my wife changes her mind!

I don't see any one GPS fitting all your needs.

1. Getting from my house to the cache.

Any GPS will do this.

2. Paperless. (I don't own an Ipod, laptop, PDA, or fancy cell phone.)

Delorme PN40, Garmin Colorado and Garmin Oregon are full paperless. The Garmin 60CSX, Magellan Tritons and the newer Garmin eTrex H line of units have a limited paperless capability that may or may not require some knowledge and 3rd party software to implement.

3. Multi cache ablity.

Not really sure what you mean by this. If you mean the ability to download many caches at a time,

any GPS with a PC connection will do it. That means all but the most inexpensive models.

4. Great or good accuracy.

Nearly any hand held made by Garmin, Lowrance, DeLorme and even (ugh) Magellan will have good accuracy. Reception is a different thing and a different story.

5 Easy to see and use.

Well the Oregon is easy to use, but not easy to see.

The PN40 is neither easy to see or easy to use.

The Garmin 60CSX is fairly easy to see and reasonably easy to use.

The Garmin Geko 201 is very easy to use and somewhat easy to see.

The Garmin Colorado is somewhat easy to see and easy to use

The Garmin eTrex H units are pretty easy to see and reasonably easy to use.

I'd say judging from your list of criteria, the Garmin Oregon is your best choice. It has nearly everything, but is a bit hard to see in sunlight. Other than that it has what you need.
