+The Spindoctors
Has anyone got WIG running on the Omnia. It uses Windows Mobile 6.0, has .NET 3.5 installed and is starting. But it struggles to find the GPS. We switched off the Auto setting, and although it eventually found the GPS, it was not locking onto any sats. Google Maps is working fine. Anyone else? Groundspeak? Try using Portsplitter. I quickly tried it, and I got a fix. I haven't got time yet to test it. Edited March 7, 2009 by Campy&Friend Quote Link to comment
jez1986
I can confirm I have this working on the Omnia! The basic problem with this phone and many other windows mobiles if the software either can't recognise or share the internal GPS. The solution is to install an application called GPSGate. Below is a copy of a post from PPCSG forums for setting up TomTom, the same applies to Wherigo: So the solution is to use the internal GPS through GPSGate. So : 1. Configure WM6 (Settings - External GPS): - Programs : COM2 - Hardware : COM9 baudrate : 9600 - Access : activate the check box 2. install GPSGate 2.5 (available here : GPSGate) 3. Configure GPSGate : - Input : COM2 baudrate : 4800 - Output : COM6 4. Configure Tomtom : - GPS Settings : Other NMEA, Speed : 4800, on Franson COM6 Hope this helps Jez Quote Link to comment
