College/Pro Sports Geocoins?

I was hoping someone knew of anyone doing geocoins or trackables with college or pro-sports logos/mascots. Thanks!

I'm fairly certain that universities are very protective of their logos and mascots because of licensing and copyright issues. There was one Washington State coin being sold last year, but for an outrageous price if I remember correctly -- they had permission from the university and likely had to pay a licensing fee.

 

For mascots, there is a series of pathtags out there.

 

As for pro sports, the only one I know of is 2~sherlocks' Green Bay Packers coin. Again, they received permission from the team to use the logo and cannot sell it for a profit (but boy, do they make a profit from their shipping!! )

Gators?? Ewww Go Seminoles! I ran into the same problem when starting to do my coin. It would have been just way too expensive to put on anything pertaing FSU. Good luck though even though it will be Gator stuff lol

i agree GO GATORS!!!!!. there are coins with alligators and crocodiles, so i use those. they are close enough.

 

i am sure it would be very expensive to get a geocoin made. i think some teams have their own coin you could buy. then you would need to add a travel bug tag to it to make it trackable.
