GSAK help

Crab Master

Recommended Posts

I have just downloaded GSAK and I have caches loaded into it correctly. But I dont see where in GSAK that I can send these to my pocket pc so I dont have to carry tons of paper. And maybe I can't?? Can anyone help me please??

Thanks in advance.

You'll have to get another third-party bit of software for your PPC like EasyGPS or Cachmate or BackCountryNavigator or BeeLineGPS. From GSAK, select the files you want and export the file using "File -> Export -> GPX/LOC file". You'll have to manually move the file to your PPC (I use an SC card and a card reader), then import the file into whatever software you're using.

If you are using GPXSonar or GPXView then you don't need GSAK to send to your PPC. When you get your PQ just open the zip file and drag the .gpx file to your PPC. GPXSonar/GPXView uses that file. You don't have to tweak anything.

That goes for any of them that read GPX, not just those two. With CacheMate, at least, you don't even have to unzip the PQ file.

Or:

No additional software needed if you:

Open GSAK, imort your PQ, and then go to "File"-"Export"-"Export as HTML"

A folder called "Cache" will be created. When it's done it's magic, go to "My Computer" then "GSAK" the drag the folder called "Cache" into either your PDA (if docked) or a memory card that then goes in your PDA.

Aftar that, go to File Explorer on your PDA, find and open "Cache" and click on "Index"

Ta-da....
