A.B.E.L.
Since the Oregon/Colorado are compatible with the heart rate strap I'm curious if anyone has tried to use it while jogging? It would be nice to get the data from a run off my Oregon but I have no idea how I would even carry it on me while running? anyone have any ideas? Quote Link to comment
britops
I bought a Forerunner 50 with Heart Rate Chest Monitor from Amazon cheaper than buying the chest monitor on its own. It displays the heart rate on my Oregon but doesn't log it. However the watch does and can be transferred to PC. Edited February 12, 2009 by britops Quote Link to comment
+Branky
I use the Oregon with the Heart rate monitor all the time while I am walking. I walk fairly fast, I cover 10KM in 1hr 19min, almost a jog. I carry mine in my hand, held loosley. Clucthing it drives up the BP. Garmins Mapsource does not read the HRM information. The Oregon records it, but Mapsource drops the ball there. I use a piece of share ware called TCXConverter. It is written by a biker in Italy and it show the heart rate and Bike Cadence if you are biking. Find it at : http://www.teambikeolympo.it/TCXConverter/...verter_ENG.html Or do a search on TCXConverter Watch word wrap. Well worth it. However the best $$ I spent was on TopoFusion. Another MB person has blended reading the Oregon (and others) and showing it on free downloadable maps. I LOVE IT! www.topofusion.com hHats my $0.02 CDN worth. ...Brent... Quote Link to comment

It can import the file directly and will log the heart rate information. It has built in mapping support for google street and satellite maps. It is free, but you can donate money if you like the program. http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/ Quote Link to comment
Barrikady
I have a Mac running OX, an Oregon 300 and a Garmin heart rate monitor. I use ASCENT from Montebello Software and Ascent grabs the heart rate data as well as speed time, etc. Very nice! They have a full featured demo version that has a limit to the number of activities that can be logged. I have no relationship to Montebello Software, other than being a satisfied customer! Barrikady
You're welcome. Yes, if you have a Mac running OSX 10.4 or later, and a Garmin GPS, you should give this sweet program a whirl. Quote Link to comment
