+die_anita
Can anybody set a TB status on unknown location? My TB got this status but it wasn't me who did it. Is it possible to change this status or better to find out who's changed it? Edited February 11, 2009 by die_anita Quote Link to comment
+Beleman
AFAIR also a cache owner can set this status, if the TB is logged in his cache. Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
Only the cache owner, the Trackable's owner, Groundspeak, a reviewer, or myself can mark them missing. Getting them out of the Unknown Location is as simple as logging a "grab from somewhere else". If it was me, I would have posted a note to the trackable page. Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
And, it must have been the cache owner. I translated the maintenance log on that cache using an online translation, so you know something was lost, but the cache was muggled along with everything in it. I'm afraid your TB may be gone. Tja, there seem to have been grave robbers at the work, who pillaged all treasures. See times whether the box emerges in the next days again - would unfortunate be around Travel nose. Otherwise I must me which other one superior. I did say it lost something in the translation! I dont' speak German, but you get the idea. Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
And the two logs after that loosely translated show the cache was replaced with a smaller container. … and I was unfortunately that, which " robbed Grab" discovered: - ( … and that, although I loosened the grave - turned out as afterwards with the distance toward sunset - in unorthodox way. Harm around the treasures and thanks at the Owner that I mean visit still log may. And far geht' s with provisionally somewhat a smaller box as well as a revised simplified description. Despite its small size the box should have good to be found, since the hiding place is not to be surveyed actually. I would give it a little time though before you release the copy. It may still show up. Quote Link to comment
+NanCycle
I would give it a little time though before you release the copy. It may still show up. There was a TB I was watching that was in a cache that got trashed. I emailed the CO and they put the TB in "Unknown". Shortly after, it was found in another cache nearby. Don't give up too soon! +die_anita
Thanks to all of you for those information. I was just puzzled when I saw my TB on unknown location. I care much about this special TB as it was a Birthday present to my Dad. I hope that it will show up somewhen somewhere... Quote Link to comment
+George&Heather
I have a followup question. The same thing has recently happened to a GC of mine. As the owner, I went to grab it so I could move it to a TB graveyard but I don't have the GC tracking code since I don't have possession of the actual coin. How is this done? Is the GC destined to say unknown forever? Quote Link to comment

The coin can stay there until it resurfaces or you decide to find a way to re-release a copy. Quote Link to comment

+BlueDeuce
Oh, and if you access the coin page, under Trackable Item Options on the right is your tracking number. Quote Link to comment
