HAPPY (belated) LUNAR NEW YEAR!!!

In celebration of the lunar new year and the arrival of my Year of the Ox geocoins (with many thanks to Mike Atwell for making it happen), I am announcing a COINTEST!

FIRST PRIZE: An "Evil Overlord Edition" Year of the Ox coin (two-tone nickel and black nickel with yellow-orange translucent enamel, one of 18 made)

SECOND PRIZE: Your choice of one of the Regular Editions of the Year of the Ox coin (Gold, Silver or Copper)

THIRD PRIZE: Your choice of either of the coins not chosen by the second prize winner

FOURTH PRIZE: The remaining Year of the Ox Regular Edition

THE RULES:

Post a ROFLCow! That is, a funny picture involving cattle (or a cow/bull), oxen, or buffaloes or water buffaloes. The pictures must be friendly to the average reasonable family.

They can be pictures you have taken or pictures you have found. You can caption them or not caption them as you wish (some pictures don't need captions). Captions, if included, do NOT have to be in "LOLspeak" if you don't want, but it's perfectly fine if they are. Please feel free to Photoshop or otherwise alter the pictures in any way you like. Seriously, go nuts, be creative, and have fun.

PLEASE CITE any photo that is not yours (in other words, link to the site from which you got the picture). Do not hotlink to the site unless the site expressly allows it. You should obtain permission, where possible, to use any photo that is not your own and not hosted on a site expressly designed for the creation and sharing of photos (even then, you should still cite).

To cite:

For those of you with Microsoft Powerpoint, an easy way to caption is to change the slide setup so that it is the same size as your photo and make sure your photo is set to 100% x 100% (height x width) (right-click on the picture and select "Format Picture", then click on the "Size" tab to get there). Use text boxes to place your captions. Then File->Save As...and set the file type to "JPEG (.jpg)".

You may post AS MANY AS YOU LIKE. There are no limitations.

EXAMPLES:

Okay, so now you can't use these two images since I've already show them here -- sorry!

DEADLINE:

At 2000 (8pm) Tokyo time on February 17th, I will close out the cointest and enlist my husband to print out all of the offerings and we will decide between the two of us which four pictures made us laugh the hardest. Those will be the winners. I will absolutely not look at this thread until then so that my sense of humor is fresh & ready for the onslaught.

THANK YOU ALL for the cointests you've done so far, and I am really happy to be able to give back to the community with a creation of my own. I hope you enjoy this cointest!

My pictures were lost when my computer died, but when I did my bicycle ride from Yellowstone to Cody WY, I met up with a buffalo twice (same particular one). Both times, this buffalo was walking down the roadway...right in the road lane of his side! First time, Tod and I were in the truck heading to the campsite (we'd just arrived in Yellowstone), the traffic died to a crawl and we were looking everywhere (when the traffic stops, animals are usually present). I spotted him making his moooove along the roadway! This was where I picked up the funniest picture of the two I had, I wasn't nearly as scared as when I was on my bike (the next encounter).

As the rather large brute strolled up toward us, I readied my camera and snapped a pic of him, catching his large head and face dead in the center of the frame...perfect!! He had a slightly messed up hairdo and sprigs of grass were entertwined in the brown mane. I caught his eye looking directly at the camera as if to say ""mooove on, only one pic per visitor"!! It was a scary and exciting feeling to be within arm's reach of this beast, but I was just as close a few days later...on my bike!!!

THANKS for the cointest, good luck to all the entrants!!!
