Texas Hikers

My wife and I are Cachers that really do not enjoy the urban caching scene. We do grab some on occasion but we prefer the hikers. We are looking for trails and parks with multiple caches in the Central Texas area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Team CenTex92

You might try Lake Goodwater trail. It is a nice trail along Lake Georgetown with some geocaches along the way as well. I think it is about 16 miles long and was being extended the last time we were there.

Cameron Park in Waco lots of caches and a number of great trails.

See the following website for a map of the park http://www.wacocvb.com/forms/cameron-pk-trails.pdf

Enjoy the hikes,

Don't know of you have visited yet but Dinosaur State Park in Glen Rose has pretty good hiking trails and several geocaches. My family enjoys hiking here. Sometimes can be a little crowded- especially in the river area- but we don't usually run into that many people on the trails.

And, as a bonus, at the end of a hot day the river crossing at the trail head sure does cool off the toes!!

End of March we did Garner State Park and Lost Maples - both are great hiking parks in Central Texas. Enchanted Rock would be another good choice. All three parks have geocaches in place. Of course we wish we had of known this while we were there! Our GPS arrived just days before the planned vacation.
