+BrierPatch
I received my Valentines compass Rose & Pendant coins today. I think Mike did a fantastic job on this coin! I believe there are still some for sale at his new site. Here Now for the cointest: Poetry or Prose about that special someone in your life. All posts should be original and by you, Ive read enough Whitman and Longfellow and want to read yours. It does not have to be good, just original, it does not have to be long a simple Haiku would suffice. It does need to clean and family friendly. One post per user per twenty four hour period. I will pick a winner on Saturday night and another on Monday and attempt to get the winnings to you in time for Valentine's Day. Quote Link to comment

+tsunrisebey
Not really entering but I thought it would be fun to write a little something for a special soul that touched my life I wake up each morning to your smiling face, It's tucked behind glass your memory encased. Some times I stop and give you a touch, It's the best I can do I can give you that much. At times I do think that I see you run by, I turn and I look and remember good bye. I still have your old chair it sits in the yard, Can't take it away it's really too hard. Memories they come and some make me smile, Yet the pain is still there but give me awhile. While I still feel sad I feel really blessed, To have shared your short life you gave me your best. Little wet kisses upon my dry cheek, A jump and a bark a dogs muddy feet. Squeekies and bones and fresh pizza crust, Were things that you loved but pig ears a must! A wiggle of your bottom and a howl of your own, I knew you were happy to see your mommy come home. You know you were loved and today you still are, From my mind and my heart you're never far. A dog is a friend loyal and true, A gift from above Cowboy, I love you. Quote Link to comment
+GATOULIS
LOVE… what is the meaning of Love??? Can anyone give an exact meaning? Such a small word, but so powerful! Love… a feeling that is changing all the time! Different feeling for different person, but it is still love! You love your mother, your father, your brothers, your sisters, your friends…..your other half of your life! All the time different love… but always a great and unique feeling!!! Even if I have to talk about erotic love…. In every human it is different! Many choose not to show what they feel, or show only some, just because they afraid…. I choose not to hide it! Love is making me stronger! Love is making me feel alive! Love is making me feel close to God! Maybe that is why ancient Greeks had Eros (Erotas = love) as a flying angel god! One arrow from his bow and you were condemned…. Love is the water of life….but love makes us all look crazy! Love can make us blind, but it can surely make us feel like small Gods! Oh yes!!!! It is so powerful that o matter of previous mistakes, we keep doing them again and again… everything in the name of love! Great things happened because of love, many things were done! Wars….do you remember the Trojan War? Taj Mahal…. One of the greatest monuments of Love….. But… it is just a grave!!! Stories, poems… were written, with happy end or not! All countriens have similar writings, in every language that is spoken!!! …Romeo & Juliet….The couple – symbol of all lovers…. Tons of paper… liters of ink was spent to write what we feel… to write what we want to say but we can’t! No matter if we have already read them… they still keep their power, they are still unique, and they are still so beautiful… no matter when or where they were written! Love, love, love…. The one who will find true love, the one who will feel pure love, is blessed by God! You can recognize him from the shine on his/her face, of the smile he/she has… The blessed one feels like he/she is not even standing on the ground! He/she just flies on the air!!! Ancient Greeks had separated love! They had “Erotas” and “Agapi”!!! But why??? Did they actually search more???? Erotas is what we feel at the beginning! All the power, all the enthusiasm, the power, the burn in our heart, the explosion of feelings that we can not control….the waves of passion that makes you feel that nothing can stop you!!! But what is Agapi??? Agapi is the real love! When all that calm down, we can see clearly and feel the purity of what we feel! Our true feelings!!!! I heard once that Erotas is like a balloon that is full of air! Very slowly the air comes out! Agapi stays for ever!!! Agapi never dies! That is love!!! I do not know what to write about what I feel when my girlfriend is next to me! I do not know what to write when she is away and I can not see her! Sometimes you just can not write these things! If you write them they may lose their power…. Love….. Love is when you are thinking her all the time! Love is when you miss her from the time she tells you goodnight! If a star was falling every time I was thinking of her… the moon would realize what loneliness is! Love is to look deep in her eyes, the mirrors of her soul, feel her warmth, travel in the blue of her eyes, in magic places… Love is to getting drunk by smelling her perfume… Love is to hold her in you arms, to caress her hair, her chick.. And feel so good!!! Love is when you kiss her to feel like you are trembling! Maybe you are!!! Love is when you taste her lips while you are kissing, and it is like you taste a sweet from Heaven! That is love!! When you feel that you are in heaven… when you can even hear the music from the angels…. Ok… Love is something else too.. But I will not go there…. Love is to see in her, your other half, the woman of your life, the mother of your children!!! I believe in life, because without it there is not love I believe in love because without it her do not exist.. I believe in her because without you I do not exist either!!! Love can even change time!!! I learned in school that 1 day has 24 hours! 1 hour has 60 minutes…. 1 minute has 60 seconds… But none taught me that a second away from you is like a century…. So… Am I in love???… Maybe... Sorry if my post is huge! I just started writing and… Quote Link to comment
+Team CeDo
We like the same things like walks in the woods. We love to go Geocaching would go more often if we could. Our love is forever that I can tell. Our hearts beat together like two peanuts in a shell. I can't imagine living without you in my life. This is why i'm asking you to be my wife. +cache_in_hand
Forever More When brown eyes first beheld me I was yours forever more As the world melted around me And my heart began to soar All words, they seemed to vanish I was stunned... What could I do But be captured by the magic As I first laid eyes on you So moved, Yet so unmoving Standing locked within your gaze My insides all but churning And my mind a golden haze Wrapped around your finger Sudden victim to your charm I was yours right then completely I was safe and I was warm When brown eyes first beheld me I was yours forever more For they gazed so deep within me Looking right through every door And they whispered I have found you And I'll never let you go Now becomes forever Once connected soul to soul Edited February 6, 2009 by cache_in_hand Quote Link to comment
+Wandering Vikings
It may not be poetry but... On our wedding day someone gave us some bath crayons as part of a gift basket. We soon found a use for them, leaving little love notes and pictures on the shower walls. Here is just a small sampling of some of our "art" to each other. Thanks for the fun cointest! +Mar-elendili
Treasure Chest (yes, this was written for the one who is now my dear husband! How appropriate!) In the centre of a maze In the middle of my quest Amid a rainbow-like haze I have found a treasure chest It's not an ordinary container It's all made out of oak tree With a golden fastener And it's got a chiselled key Through the keyhole I can see Lots of glittering jewels Like a tree full of squirrels Like a grove with a pixie I still don't know All the treasures there's inside I only know My misfortune has died I see something and I crouch Between the roots of a tree There is a small leather pouch Seems to be waiting for me The leather is beautifully hand-carved Closed by a bright red thonging Try to squeeze it and inside I can feel a precious ring It's maybe a sapphire Perhaps even a diamond It's a stone full of fire A new gem every second I still don't know All the treasures there's inside I only know My misfortune has died Quote Link to comment
ATMouse
Whatever should we natter on about what love is, now and gone? Cynics sneer and poets write in verses pure and scribbles trite of love's romance and heart's desire, of ashes cold and passions tired. And silly me, I've gone and tried to match their feats, (such reckless pride!) and dared to rhyme a line or two or three, if that what makes the glue that holds the meter tight and true about our love, twixt me and you. But clumsy me, I haven't yet found the words or phrases that will tell the real, the true, the right, the best, the core, of what ignites our hearts' commitment through the years of work and play, of joy and tears. +SgtMikal
This definitely isn't very long, but I wrote this one line in a card when I was courting my then-girlfriend. We have been married for just over 10 years now, and it still holds true. I told her, "I love you - madly and gladly." She still talks about that line and how much she liked it. Thought I would share. Thanx for hte cointest. Quote Link to comment
+drneal
There once was a coin from Nantucket...oops...nevermind! Quote Link to comment
+drneal
let's try this again. Not entering...the coins are beautiful though. For Christmas w years ago I gave my mother-in law and father-inlaw a pirolette, a custom cut pedestal, form a group called turn your head. with it, a story about the pirolette...I think the story can pass as prose: Once upon a time there lived a beautiful and kind princess (Kathy.) She lived with her 3 wicked stepsisters, but that's another story! One day while attending a local christmas ritual, she met a talking frog (me.) She kissed the frog , and while he didn't turn into a prince, he certainly felt like a king. Eventually they married, moved to the not so far away land of Marienstadt, and adopted 3 handsome (but hairy,) princes (Brandy...at the bridge, Logan and Heineken.) Sadly one day while driving home to visit with the royal family the princess was taken away by an evil dragon. But as she dissappeared, the princess, brave and honorable, could be heard to say... Look for me in faraway places, and close to home... I'll be there. In the sunshine warming your shoulders, in the gentle breezes cooling your face... and even in the simplest of forms... I'll be there! I'll be there! attached, a picture of the pirolette. Look closely at the sides of the pedestal...You'll see a profile, my wife's profile. Happy valentine's day Kathy! ILYK Quote Link to comment
