klink
I have a class that I take geocaching every year. The kids love it. I would love to be able to send out a link to everybody in the class that points to my class' geocaching found log so the current kids can see all the past caches. But, the URL on my log page is something like http://www.geocaching.com/my/logs.aspx?s=1 and is only valid for me. Is there a way to get a distributable link to my log page? Quote Link to comment

If you bring up the log, under your account and then log out, it should change to the page where visitors would see it. I'm off to try that and see if it works... Quote Link to comment

+WRITE SHOP ROBERT
OK, I see what you mean. That's a list within the "My Account" section. You can click where it says "View Profile" and then look at the list of geocaches from there, or you can create a seperate account for the Class Finds, and log them seperatly from your own account. +WRITE SHOP ROBERT
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...57&ul=klink This link will show all the Ccahes found under your account, but can only be viewed by those who are logged in. I'm sure someone will have a better answer soon. Mine all seem very messy. Quote Link to comment
+flask
step aside please. i am the master of linked logs. when you look at the logs on the cache page, you will see a link to "view this log on a separate page" that's the link to use. if you're already looking at a page that says "view a cache log", you're all set. if you've just entered a log, you have to click away from it to get back to it. i have been asking for this to be changed for years, but you know how things go sometimes. klink
Thanks both of you for your quick replies! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...57&ul=klink This link will show all the Ccahes found under your account, but can only be viewed by those who are logged in. I'm sure someone will have a better answer soon. Mine all seem very messy. This is exactly what I am looking for, but for non-members to be able to view. I shouldn't have used my old account for the example because I only had 1 find on that one. For a better example, I plugged in flask's ID - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...57&ul=flask I tried this one: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=flask and it does appear to work without the "tx" variable. I'll experiment with it a little tomorrow to make sure cookies or whatnot on my machine are not polluting my results. step aside please. i am the master of linked logs. when you look at the logs on the cache page, you will see a link to "view this log on a separate page" that's the link to use. if you're already looking at a page that says "view a cache log", you're all set. if you've just entered a log, you have to click away from it to get back to it. i have been asking for this to be changed for years, but you know how things go sometimes. This only shows 1 log entry for the 1 cache, I need all log entries made by the the user. Quote Link to comment

+StarBrand
I don't think the public as a whole will be able to see your logs without having aan account and being logged in. Quote Link to comment

I had a coworker try the link http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=flask and it worked for her. My coworker had never been to geocaching.com and doesn't know anything about it - a great muggle test. This link is what I am going to distribute (with the proper userid in place of "flask" of course). Thanks everybody for your help! Quote Link to comment

This should work find for any username that has no spaces or special characters in it, otherwise the URL gets messed up, but with judicious usage of HTML entities one can overcome that. Of course they can't see cache pages for Premium Members Only caches, and they can't see coordinates. But I think you really just want to show them your stats. Go to your account and click on the 'View My Stats' button, then put that link anywhere you want. Edited February 2, 2009 by trainlove Quote Link to comment
