Ude Palmer
I am soon launching my first Wherigo cartridge and have a question regarding distance: Will it be possible to place the physical cache within 50 m from a cache listed at geocaching.com, if there is a very good reason? Regards Ude The physical cache container will have to abide by the normal proximity guidelines as any other cache, 528 ft or 160 meters. From the Wherigo cache guidelines: Cache saturation applies only to physical containers, and not virtual elements. Standard geocaching guidelines apply. That being said, unless the other cache is a virtual, EarthCache, or a stage of any cache that has no physical container (like figuring coords from plaque). You may ask for an exception, but they are hard to come by. One that usually works is if there is a physical barrier between the two caches (river, gorge, etc.). There still could be a saturation issue, but that could be overcome with adequate permission. The best person to ask is your reviewer. Go ahead and float the idea past them before you finish your cartridge. Good luck and looking forward to seeing your cartridge and cache.
