wkmccall
How do I put maps on my profile. It says to upload it to somewhere else like Flickr, but I got really confused about the link. Please help! copy the html code it gives you and paste it into your user profile (empty box at the bottom when editing the profile). Quote Link to comment
TheKamoKid
I tried to do that but when I view my profile, it just has the words of the link and no picture. Quote Link to comment
Kealia
Once you've uploaded the image to Flickr (or imageshack, etc.) you should have a URL for your photo. That URL needs to be entered via HTML code like below: <img src="url"> Quote Link to comment
TheKamoKid
For some reason it just comes up with a little white box with an "X" through it and has a chevron by it. Its kind of frustrating. Quote Link to comment
Kealia
I *think* Flickr requires a password to see images. What I see on the page is just this: img src=http://www.flickr.com/photos/34759783@N05/3230538786 It should look exactly like this: <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/34759783@N05/3230538786"> edit to add: I just tried using that URL and can't see the image when I create an HTML page, so it must be a limit from Flickr that you must be signed in. Trying another free image hosting site like Photobucket or Imageshack with the code above. Edited January 27, 2009 by Kealia Quote Link to comment
TheKamoKid
Yea I really cant get it . If someone can get more info great, but Im not going to worry too much about it. Quote Link to comment
m.austin
If you go to your Flickr page that displays your photo - right click on the photo & choose "properties". Highlight the entire link that is displayed. It should start with http:// and end with .jpg , .gif, or some other image extension (it may have some additional coding such as v=0 - be sure to include that). Place that in the insert image command. Your coding will appear - it should look like {img} replace { with [ . You can also just type in the coding. Quote Link to comment
Kealia
Actually, the brackets won't work. He's looking to post the picture in his profile which uses HTML, not on the forums which use the BB (?) code. Quote Link to comment
TheKamoKid
OK. I FINALLY GOT IT!!! A big thank you to all of you who helped. This is my first time using the forums and now I see how helpful they can be. Quote Link to comment
