Dirtdobber73
I have a Magellan Explorist 500. How do I transfer a Way point from my PC to my GPS? Quote Link to comment
+mdplayers
If you were a premium member you would create a PQ (Pocket Query) and then you would put that in GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) software. From GSAK you export the data to a file (I put mine on the desktop) and then after attaching your GPSr to the computer with the USB cable, simply copy the file to the appropriate folder (I put them in Geocaches). Your computer should recognize the GPSr like it's another drive (like a flash drive). It seems like alot at first but it really isn't. GSAK is inexpensive and allows you to read the cache descriptions, previous logs, sort the waypoints, edit the waypoint names (so you can tell what they are when you get them to the GPSr), all sorts of other stuff. A Premium Membership is only $30/year. Well worth it just to get the PQ's. I don't know what I'd do without them. Quote Link to comment

+emb021
I actually use GSAK to uploaded the data directly to my GPSr via USB. So I don't know if dumping the data into a file is really necessary or not. Quote Link to comment
+mdplayers
I've never tried to upload directly to the Explorist because I have to load to mine and to my husbands and it just works to make the file and copy it to the GPSr's. I might try it direct, just for the sake of trying something new. Quote Link to comment
