+Kryten
New beetle has plenty of dashboard for all those cacher gadgets, printouts etc. Ground clearance is a a bit poor when throwing vehicle into a hedgerow etc. Quote Link to comment
+sssss
would you really want to be seen in a german staff car? Quote Link to comment
+vw_k
My Mk2 Golf was lowered 60mm and had no problems being slung up on a verge or kerb for caching, I ground out a couple of times but as they say, "If you aint rubbin' you aint really dubbin!" Quote Link to comment
+Pharisee
.......but as they say, "If you aint rubbin' you aint really dubbin!" Do people really say things like that? I have no idea what it means but I must use it at the next R&D progress meeting. The CEO will think I'm really on the ball.... or more likely, that I've totally lost the plot!! Quote Link to comment
+currykev
I'm a big fan of mint condition campervans. They are beautiful to behold. ...but I'd never dare to purchase one for lack of reliability and horrible gearshifts..apparently! +Delta68
I'm a big fan of mint condition campervans. They are beautiful to behold. Too right! Especially the classic 'splittys' We saw a couple of junk T2s driving along the road a few weeks back one had 'Death-trap Dubs' daubed on it and a massive Maltese cross painted on the side... 100% cool! (This post was Mark's opinion) Quote Link to comment
+V-Dubbers
Our rusty but trusty Mabel has taken us on many caching trips - and she has excellent ground clearance! Nothing better than after a cold wet caching walk, to get back to the camper and put the kettle on! Some may think we're biased (can't think why ) but it's really the only way to cache !!!! +Bear and Ragged
would you really want to be seen in a german staff car? Used and improved by the British Army, to get German industry back on the road, immediately after the war! (Good enough for the British Army, and the officers to use, good enough... ) Quote Link to comment

klodopper
They seem like a lot of hard work to me!! Some friends at work keep bringing old rusty bent bits of VW in and attempt to repair them or make new parts. I think I will stick to a modern car and keep my hands clean! Quote Link to comment
klodopper
I agree, clean hands and a nice modern car is much better than having to do major maintenance on a pile of rust at the side of the road in freezing rain!!. Good grief some of these nutters own 2 or 3 of these piles of rust!! Quote Link to comment
+O2J
Aha Delta, i think i recognise your dogs! And didn't you used to have Morris Marina Klodopper??? Enough said! You must have had a lot of experience with fixing rusty cars at the roadside! Edited January 26, 2009 by O2J Quote Link to comment

+Sladonians
Yup, I use a VEEDUB Touran, 7 seats, back 2 fold away for a big boot. Blacked our rear windows for covert waiting for muggle free caching. Loads of pockets and compartments to keep all the caching essentials. Love it.
