Hi,

How do i restore the original base map in my Garmin Legend?

I installed the map source cd set to my pc then transferred

some of the mapping to the Legend.

Thanks

Is the basemap totally gone? Or is it just hidden by the overlaying detail maps? If hidden, just turn off the detail maps in the menu system, and you'll see it again.

I'm pretty sure you can download a copy of the basemap off Garmin's website in any case (let me know if you can't find it).

Hi,

Thanks for answering.

Just to be sure, if i go to the map screen then bring up the drop down

menu, then click on the "set up map" option then highlight the "#"on the second row,

then go to "detail", is that the one that you are referring to?

If so, off is not an option, just "most, more, normal, less, least".

Thank you for your patience.

Nope, that would be a different spot. I don't have a Legend (I used to, but my brother has it now). The option is there, just keep looking. (Or dig up the manual on Garmin's website  )

Edit to add, on the 60CS, you show the map, hit menu, browse to where it has a list of displayed maps, hit Menu again, and then you'll see a list that includes "Show All", "Show None", "Hide Basemap", etc. You'll want to hide what ever detailed maps you have. I'm giving you the 60CS options, because the legend is likely to have a similar interface, although the buttons are different.
