+Trekkin' and birdin'
We will do EarthCaches of all types, but truly enjoy those that take us somewhere remote, require an effort to reach, and ask us to do something more than just get information from a sign. Canoeing is great, provided rental places are nearby. A little bit of low level rock climbing without gear is okay. Hiking for long distances---as much as 7-8 miles, provided the scenery is cool, is fine. So, tell me about the coolest EarthCaches in your state that fit these parameters! Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
OOH! OOH! "Rock In" Down The Highway Earthcache Sorry guys and ladies, but it's the best EarthCache we've done! Visit ten spots in the five physiographic regions of New Jersey! 376 miles later, stuck in the sand on a road in the Pine Barrens... This one is great! Only ten finds in three and a half years, but it is great!! Quote Link to comment
+lagrac
In my opinion, the best EarthCache in the State of Iowa (Iowa is my State) is : http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...0c-3b9f9ad8dc51 It is located down by Maquoketa Iowa. The funny thing about this EarthCache, is that the posted coordinates are not that of the cave itself. The developer of this EarthCache tells you approximately where the cave is in the EarthCache's write up. It is up to you to find it. By doing this, I ended up discovering alot of unique about this special area by just looking for the cave. The 'road' to the cave is very primitive, the hike is rough. In general, a very cool place. +webscouter.
This one isn't an earthcache but it well could be and it would be a great one at that. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCP21H Quote Link to comment
+OEnavigators
There aren't many EarthCaches in Arkansas but Skullcrusher Rapids seems to fit some of your criteria. It's a really fun EarthCache and well worth a visit. Quote Link to comment
+PaRacers
This Earthcache is in Ny. but it has been one of our favorites for quite some time. Eternal Flame Falls Earthcache Is an unlikely combination of fire and water in a cascading shale waterfall flowing over a natural gas fissure. Located in the south western part of Ny, in Chestnut Ridge Park. Quote Link to comment

+team_goobie
Sugarloaf here in Virginia City is very cool. This pic doesn't do it justice! Quote Link to comment
+VirginiaGator
There's two here in Virginia that we love for different reasons... Alum Spring Rocks! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...8d-80c9222724b2 With the "rock" in the water (which is amazing in itself!) it's easy to visualize an earthquake that caused it to get there. And even dinosaurs way back when! I have to say it's at the top of my list. But an EXTREMELY close second is... The Falls of the Rappahannock http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...76-3622648638d4 It was amazing to see the river rushing by us. Yet as we walked along the banks, there were areas where you could get in the water and easily walk to a small strip of land. The geological differences from one end to the other end was something else! If you head to Fredericksburg, VA, these two aren't to be missed! +Cav Scout
If you thought the fire tower was cool, you would be speachless if you went further north to the Kentucky Red River Gorge Geological Area . +Rev Mike
If you thought the fire tower was cool, you would be speachless if you went further north to the Kentucky Red River Gorge Geological Area . I think my favorite part of that was the road up from the east "Trail of the Lonesome Pine" I believe. The towers and benchmarks were great too. I will get to the Red River Gorge Geological Area eventually. I should be in Kentucky again in May caching my way back to Pennsylvania from California. I will see if I can get that on my route. - Rev Mike Quote Link to comment
+Juicepig
I really like your list, but disagree with your NH pick - IMO (GC1E6BH ) Beaver Brook falls (although out of the way) is pretty spectacular! (guess it is all a matter of personal preference though) Quote Link to comment

(guess it is all a matter of personal preference though) It is only a matter of opinion but you can't "disagree" with my choice since you've not found it yet. Likewise I have not found the one you think was the best for NH so I could not consider it as a favorite yet. But I will get there eventually. - Rev Mike Quote Link to comment
