dardevle
I have a Oregon 400t and My dad and I have all four points of 40acres mark. Then we walked our 4-wheeler trail to see where in relation it is to the boundries. Here is a pic. My Question is can I some how get this image onto our computer and make it say, the size of a sheet of paper so I can print it out? Any help would be great. If it works then we have some logging roads by the cabin we are going to map out also! -Dardevle- Quote Link to comment
splashy
Save current track Load this track in mapsource via transfer / receive from / and print If you want you can make waypoint of the corners by tapping on a corner, or in mapsource with the waypoint tool. +dardevle
What is map source ? I do not see that when I plug my GPS into the computer. I just got this GPS 3-4 weeks ago and am not very computer literate. Maybe advice given to me could be like giving advice or teaching a average 10yr old. That should make it at my level. +dardevle
I have all four corners marked as waypoints then I created a route from 1 all the way back to 1 to create the pink lines. I went to garmin.com and tried to download map source but it says I need some kind of software. What now??? Quote Link to comment
g-o-cashers
The Oregon should have come with a CD that had Mapsource on it. You'll need to install that. Quote Link to comment
dardevle
The Oregon should have come with a CD that had Mapsource on it. You'll need to install that. Mine for some reason did not. Does that normally come with the Oregon? Is that something I can get from local Gander Mountain or outdoor store? Quote Link to comment
richsnake
The Oregon does not come with mapsource. Quote Link to comment
dardevle
I'll look into map source. I think I am just going to contact Garmin and see what I can do about getting it. I was hoping to get this map blonw up and printed out to give to my dad for Christmas. We will see what happens! THANKS for the help. -Dardevle- Quote Link to comment
g-o-cashers
Here's a legit way to get it for free -- not sure if it still works or not: http://freegeographytools.com/2007/garmin-mapsource-for-free GO$Rs Quote Link to comment
yogazoo
Use DNRGarmin. Import the track directly into the FREE software and save it to KML file. Open the KML withGoogle Earth and Print out the image. Simple yet effective. This whole process should take about 30 seconds. ADDED: If DNRGarmin does not yet support the Oregon series you can bring the track into MapSource, save it as a GPX file. and import that into DNRGarmin. Now it might take you a whole 60 seconds. +splashy
There are many workaronds, BUT since you don't know where to start, I would start with Mapsource because at the end you are going to use it anyway and it's very userfriendly using ver. 6.13 Using a program most garminusers use, it's easier to have aswers if you are stuck. My Oregon came with it by the way. Quote Link to comment
g-o-cashers
I thought mine did as well (Trips and Waypoint Manager) but at least according to Garmin's web site it doesn't appear to (now?). GO$Rs Quote Link to comment
dardevle
I talked to a guy at garmin and he said I could buy Garmin Mapsource Trip & Waypoint Manager and that would allow me to do what I was hoping to do. And it looks farely cheep. Not like those other mapsource programs at around $80. This looks to be around $20-30. Thanks for all the Help!!!! Time to shop around!! Quote Link to comment
dardevle
I was also going to say that the Garmin site will not let me register my Oregon. No idea why. The Garmin rep did not know either. He said to call back a little later and they will put me through to their "Master Garmin computer I.T type person". Who knows?? Quote Link to comment
