Have sent an email asking about the postage to my corner of the world.

Really like the look of these. My ancestors all worked as miners before and after they emigrated to the USA....as were the family members who remained over here in Scotland, and this would be nice to have in memory of that. I really like the simple design too.......great work!!

Order email sent! Nice coin idea.

Got my coal coins in the mail today. Wow, they are really dark ("black as coal" is right), and light weight, and very large! Larger than I imagined. They feel sort of like casino chips, but are less dense. I will probably release one to the wild, but not right away.

Thanks!

The idea of giving a piece of coal for that geocaching friend has a special ring to it as far as Christmas gifts goes.

We are holding an event in August - and it centers on the Mining History of the Similkameen, Called "The Great Copper Rush" - we are expecting about 400 people. So we and some friends set about looking for a couple of really great unique prizes for it. Well our friend Gearhedd found one right up our Ally..

Called the CoalCache Geocoin - the Geocoins are made out of... Coal - all hand made and each one unique.. Well we ordered 5 .. and they will be a hit for the winners of the Caching runs..

Thank you again CoalCache Coins - very cool!

Hi all, two new versions for Coalcache geocoin is available. One made from Kentucky coal, the other from Illinois coal.

Wow, really neat coin concept! Are there any plans for an Indiana coal coin? (I work at an Indiana coal mine)

How much coal does it take to make a run of these coins? I may be able to get some coal from my family's mine in New Mexico for a New Mexico version.

Yes, I would love some specifications on the amount/quality of coal required in order to make a coin run :)

Have to decided to reduce my geocoin collection to handmade or natural type coins and I remembered about these and purchased last week.

They are nicely made, lightweight, and come completely ready to put into a cache with an introduction sheet with the coins goal and a printout for personal entries by the cacher who discovers or moves the coin along, all placed inside a ziplock baggie for protection against the weather. All that's needed is a pen/pencil and off it goes. Thanks Mike : )
