Peak District caches

off to the Peak District tomorrow, any idea on the best caches, i'm staying at matlock bath and have a car.

We enjoyed cats eyes curiosities of Derbyshire and Guide stoops serises.

Matlock isn't that far from Stanton moor which is a nice area and has a couple of caches.

The classic cache in Derbyshire is GCJA3V Jonaha's Journey on Froggat Edge a 5/5

Any of the above are good. You could also consider some of the S.O.M series. A Stoney Stroll near Stoney Middleton is also a good choice for a circular walk. Any of the caches on top of the moors are always worth doing especially if the weather is clear since the views are always great.

The Quarry Caper Series (7 miles) also starting from Stoney Middleton is a good circular route - 14 caches in the series and a few others close to the route. Some have combined this with A Stoney Stroll (3 1/2 miles) for a longer walk. Managed to park on the street at the side of The Moon Inn (good food and beer)

 

Just done the Treasure Fleet series today, originally set for the Piratemania event, 18 caches on a 7 mile walk if combined with the slivertrain series, then a short drive to the final 'X marks the spot' (needs a map printing from the cache page to find this last one). Parked on a side street outside the primary school or there's a pay and display carpark next to the church, most Peak District carparks charge on Sundays.

PUP did a great series around Hope for the Piratemania event in the summer... everyone really enjoyed those!!

Well we loved the low level loop of caches.. Lovely stroll with the Phillies and others.

Sir Chester seemed to like the pub we had lunch at..

I think Cats eyes have addopted the whole series..
