Garmin Etrex Venture HC problem

Having a problem with downloading geocaches to my unit when trying to download to gps I get an erroer message

"Internet explorer has encountered a problemwith an add-on and needs to close.

 

"The following add-on was running when thi problem occurred:

add on name: npGarmin.dll

Company name: Garmin Internatioal

Description: Garmin Communicator Plug-in 2.6.2.0

 

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix?

Sounds like a problem with the version of IE.

 

I use Firefox with the plugin to send caches to my Venture HC, haven't had any problems. I haven't used IE in many, many years so I can't help you with your exact problem.

 

Might also help if you said which version of IE you were using...

IF it's IE problem, try the shortcut by downloading and installing Firefox, then retry loading the geocaches again.

Firefox is much better and more up to date than IE, I use it a long time now without any problems.

Thanks for the tip on fire fox just downloaded it and am able to get caches again must have been an IE prob.

Firefox is also regarded as being a more secure browser. I don't know about IE7, but it was also faster than IE6. The differences may be minimal, but it is a good browser. It was also the original pc browser with tabs, much nicer than opening new windows IMO. I don't know why I started using Firefox, but I haven't gone back to IE on my own computer since.
