Now at Zero Gravity
When you output the NMEA sentences, does it matter a whit whether you have your unit set to Degrees, Min, Sec; or Decimal degrees? I am thinking in terms of APRS and similar applications. On a 60CS, are the displayed coordinates independent of the output ? Thanks in advance! Gene Quote Link to comment
frder
The coordinates in the NMEA sentences, according to NMEA standard, are always in ddmm.mmmm (latitude) and dddmm.mmmm (longitude) format. The displayed coordinates can be in a different format. francesco Quote Link to comment
reef mapper
A point about Garmin output from this line of units vs other brands, when downloading, the data are as usual in WGS84, but live data are in the datum set by the user. Very useful for those of us using local Astro datums a lot of the time but not something that jumps out of the manual at you. Quote Link to comment
