Double logging coins and travel bugs?

I always cache with my cache-partner Your Humble Narrator.

So, obviously, if there's a travel item in the cache, we both find it.

Is it okay if we both claim the find? We both like the coin icons, and would enjoy collecting them on our profiles. Same goes for claiming TBs.

We're also always together when the items are dropped.

Would it even work? And, if so, is it okay?

One of you would log the retrieval from the cache, and the drop into the next one.

The other would post a Discovered log.

 

Both of you then will see the icons in your profiles.

This is what Madame Mazda and myself do, after all we both discovered the coin so we both deserve to get the icon

I believe that travel bugs and geocoins are made to be discovered or grabbed from anywhere. Events, friends hands, or caches. If I see a coin/bug I always write down the number and discover it.

Our family each has an individual account, so this thought has come to mind for me as well. There are 4 of us so I think I like StaticTank's idea. might even be fun to re-hide them for the kids to "discover" as a way to learn to use the GPS themselves ;-)

Thanks for this... My son & I always cache together and we were not sure how to log them as we each have our own accounts.
