RT0870
Hello all......my name is Rusty, and I am, in fact, a newbie. I own a GPSMap 60C, and I take it with me whenever I am out and about riding my ATV......so, needless to say, it has seen some dirt and mud here and there, but it hasn't ever been submerged in anything. Recently, I noticed that some dust has managed to make it INSIDE the LCD screen compartment in the lower right-hand corner area of the display. Here lies my problem, and it's two parts: 1) I took all the screws out of the back, and managed to get the case apart all the way up to the antenna, but then no more. How do I get the case completely apart? I mean, if I send it to Garmin to have the LCD unit replaced for $125, they would have to get it apart to do so......so that means it CAN be done. 2) "IF" I can get the case apart and get to the LCD unit, has anyone here ever taken it apart to clean it? Thanks in advance, for any information/help you can provide......... Quote Link to comment

They don't fix them and return them, they send you a refurbished unit. Quote Link to comment
RT0870
I kinda figured that. I called Garmin yesterday to see what could be done, and the rep I spoke to told me to send it in, and for $125, I would get a new LCD screen. Thanks for the info..... Quote Link to comment
