geotrowel
Forgot to mention, you only have until 15 November to get one of these coins! They probably won't be available again after that, unless C&P decide there's enough demand. Quote Link to comment
geotrowel
I also forgot to mention that if Coins and Pins sell enough of these coins, there will be an icon associated with it on geocaching.com Quote Link to comment

geotrowel
There's not long left to pre-order on of my new Camulodunum coins. I think it may be as soon as Thursday! So hurry and order yours now! The coin's size is 1.75", it's available in antique bronze, antique silver and polished gold, and is trackable on geocaching.com. If enough sell, there will be an icon. The design is based on several ancient Celtic coins minted in Camulodunum (modern day Colchester, UK), around the time of the Roman invasion of Britain. It's meant as a tribute to the wonderful artistry of the Celtic people and their cultural legacy. +vw_k
Awesome looking coin, In there area where my girlfriend and I cache there is a chalk hill carving called the Uffington White Horse which is believed by some to date from the Roman/Iron age. The coin reminds me of this carving so I just had to order one! Quote Link to comment
fox-and-the-hound
I just checked out the info on the coin in the link and I have to say WOW!!! THAT is how it should be done! Every question that came to mind was answered in the wonderful write up and I've learned some new things through a coin once again. Thanks for you hard work, your research and your contribution to this crazy world of coins. Really, well done Quote Link to comment
geotrowel
Thanks VW_keychain! I've been to the Uffington White Horse (actually I was on my honeymoon!) and I have to say, although I hadn't thought of it, there is a certain resemblance. I wonder if the horse was a common symbol of freedom throughout Iron Age Britain? I'll have to look into that a bit further! Quote Link to comment
geotrowel
And thank you very much for your kind words, fox-and-the-hounds. Even though I am interested in that period of history, I spent a bit of time on research and background to make sure I had things right before I sent off the write-up. Glad you like it! Makes it all worthwhile! Quote Link to comment

vw_k
Geotrowel, The horse was very important to Celtic peoples and may have had social, cultural and religious significance as well as being used as a working and fighting animal. I'm looking forward to my coin arriving, do you know a date when they will be shipped yet? Dave Quote Link to comment
